NDS detained head of Hizb ut Tahrir in Nimruz

National Directorate of Security (NDS) – Afghanistan’s intelligence agency has arrested head of Hizb ut Tahrir for southern Nimruz province of Afghanistan.

“NDS members have arrested Abdul Qayoum son of Lal Mohammad head of Hizb ut Tahrir in Nimruz province who was involved in distributing books and pamphlets promoting extremist ideas and encouraging people to join militant groups,” a statement released by NDS reads.

According to the statement the man used to campaign against democracy and was recruiting youths to his party and was distributing letters to threat Afghans in Nimruz province.
