NDS foils Taliban suicide attack in Samangan

Afghan intelligence agency has thwarted a deadly suicide attack in Aybak city of Samangan province in north of Afghanistan.

The National Directorate of Security (NDS) – Afghanistan’s spy agency said in a statement that it has been identified a suicide bomber before reaching to his destination and performing a suicide explosion.

According to the statement the attacker had planned to perform a suicide attack by using a motorbike in a populated area of the city of Samangan.

The attacker has been identified as Lal Muhammad also known as Ashuqullah who was tasked by a Taliban commander named Talha, the statement added.

The Taliban insurgent group has always used suicide attackers as the weapon of their choice to target Afghan and foreign forces which usually also results to the death of civilians.
