Nearly 200,000 Sign Petition To Declare Pakistan Terror State
The online petition was launched by Indian-Americans on September 21 and has become the second popular petition on the White House website with over 193,000 people signing it on the morning of Wednesday, September 28.
The Obama administration is expected to respond to it within 60 days.
Last week, Congressman Ted Poe, Chairman of the House Subcommittee on Terrorism, along with Congressman Dana Rohrabacher, introduced the ‘Pakistan State Sponsor of Terrorism Designation Act’ in the House of Representatives.
“This petition is important to the people of United States of America, India and many other countries which are continuously affected by Pakistan-sponsored terrorism,” the petition said.
The White House petitioning website allows people to call on the government to take action on the issues that matter to the people and it was created at President Obama’s administration on September 2011.
