New 20-bed hospital inaugurated in Mazar-e-Sharif

A new 20-bed hospital, overseen by the 209th Army Corps in Mazar-e-Sharif city, in northern Balkh province, has been officially inaugurated.

According to a statement, this hospital named Omar Hospital includes gynecology, obstetrics and pediatric departments and is equipped with a laboratory and ultrasound equipment.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Mohammad Taher Ahrar, the army’s medical commander, thanked the leadership and doctors of the 100-bed field hospital in Mazar-e-Sharif for their help.

He also provided detailed information about the achievements in the military health department and equipping of military hospitals with modern medical equipment and creating facilities for the doctors.

He also assured doctors of continued support.

Officials of 209th Army Corps and hospital officials appreciated the constant attention of the Ministry of National Defense in the timely supply of medicines and medical equipment, adding that they will continue to provide health services.

Last year, a similar hospital under the name of Omar was inaugurated in Kandahar province.
