No election to be held under control of current electoral institutions

The executive office warned on Monday that no election will be held under the control of the current electoral institutions.

The executive office is said to consider reforms in electoral bodies is an aperture for holding a transparent election and far from fraud.

Spokesman of the executive office, Mujibull Rahman Rahimi urged President Ghani to issue a decree for creation of electoral reforms commission.

Rahimi is said to consider electoral institutions the fundamental factors of widespread fraud and said, “We have lost much of time to bring reforms in electoral system”.

In the meantime, the observing electoral institutions emphasized that the delay in creation of electoral reforms commission would be challenging and electoral reforms should not have political flavor.

“Delay in creation of commissions will be challenging for reforms process. We expect that reforms do not take political frame.” head of Afghanistan election watch, Jandad Spen Ghar said.

After the fall of Taliban regime, Afghanistan has experienced three presidential elections and two parliamentary elections but always followed by fraud and irregularities.

Electoral reforms was one the basic agreements made in national unity government but over four months since the formation of new government no reforms have been made.
