No institutions have right to interfere in media: CEO

The Chief Executive Officer, (CEO), Abdullah Abdullah says that no institutions have the right to contact with journalists for the release and broadcast of news reports; emphasizing it should be done by Media Complaint Commission of ministry of culture.

By announcing support for the continuation of open media works in Afghanistan, CEO noted that no government officials have the right to interfere in journalists works.

“The hierarchy should be considered and there should be no pressure on journalists,” CEO, Abdullah Abdullah said.

He also stressed that the media outlets should be careful to those news stories that damages the National Unity Government (NUG) of Afghanistan,” CEO added.

Meanwhile, a number of pioneers of presses said that the country’s national interest should be considered in television broadcasts which is not a censorship but is a respect to the National Unity Government.

The 3th of May, World Press Freedom Day commemorated in Afghanistan as journalists challenges still remain and increase day by day.
