Ousted governor Atta Mohammad Noor on Monday accused Presidential Palace (ARG) of seeking to move Islamic State (IS) fighters to northern Balkh province, saying if ARG takes such action he will stand against it.

Speaking to his supporters in Balkh, Atta Noor said that if ARG attempts to move Daesh to north, it will take “this dream to grave.”

“As long as I am alive, I will stand against this move,” he warned.

This comes a day after Mohammad Massoum Stanekzai, the Intelligence Chief told BBC Persian that Russia and Iran are supporting the Taliban; pretending that the group is fighting against Islamic State fighters.

He said the Taliban play a central role in helping IS fighters to move in Afghanistan, particularly to north.
