Officials Optimistic over Road Construction of 34 Provinces

Officials in Ministry of Rural rehabilitation and Development have expressed their optimism over the construction and asphalting of roads in 34 Provinces of Afghanistan, Stating that we have had plan to asphalt 709 kilo meter of roads in villages and about 80% of its construction is done.

The roads which are being asphalted in the villages will connect to the Highways,an issue which has always been questioned in the past 13 years.

Minister of Rural Rehabilitation Naseer Ahmad Durani said,” the plan was to asphalt 709 kilo meter in the villages and 80% construction work is done.”

Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development spokesman Akbar Rustami said,” there are 8200,00 kilo meter roads which 4200,00 has been asphalted so far across the country.”

There is plan to create 1057 kilo meter of roads which needs 125$ financial supports in coming year, we hope to see our plan to be granted financially by the Ministry of Finance of Afghanistan Rustami added.

Officials in Ministry of rural rehabilitation and development mentioned that about 90% of the financial budgets for asphalting roads are paid by the International donors, such as Japan, Australia and World Bank are the major supporters.
