The Afghan Ministry of Defense said on Wednesday that 229 Afghan Air Force (AAF) officers from the 777 Mission Wing graduated from an advanced military training course on Wednesday.

In a series of tweets, the MoD stated General Yasin Zia, General Chief of Staff and acting Minister of Defense and several other senior officers attended the ceremony to honor the graduates.

According to MoD the AAF officers were trained by Afghan instructors.

“The AAF has developed a lot in terms of combat and technical capabilities,” tweeted the MoD.

The ministry said the newly graduated officers “independently plan and execute all matters related to Air Force operations, to include combat operations, resupply operations and casualty evacuation.”
