Violence against women hits a high record with over eight thousand cases recorded in the past three years that the Ministry of Public Health called it “Shocking”.

The statistics show family violence has effected more than anything in women’s lives which around 403 cases of forced marriage and 2,000 physical beating recorded.

“These cases relate to the years of 2014, 2015 and 2016. But it is the statistic of the recording centers in the provinces. A large number of women die before reaching to these centers,” said Ahmad Jan Naeem, deputy minister of public works.

The Ministry of Public Works says:

From 2014 to 2016, 8188 cases of violence against women

403 cases of forced marriage

2806 cases of beating

3470 cases of Psychological recorded.

“We have created 12 centers in the provinces that are seriously addressing the cases, but there are some cases that have not been recorded,” Naeem added.

The program of ‘Supporting Women’s Rights’ ends sometimes just with these statistics. Over fifteen years passed since the support of international community from Afghan women, but the situation is still like bubbles on water.
