Pakistan renews commitments for peace in Afghanistan
Pakistan’s army chief of staff claims that Pakistan has always acted honestly against Afghanistan and brining peace and stability to the country.
Pakistani Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif, noted that Afghanistan’s enemy is also Pakistan’s enemy; citing the security situation of Afghanistan is alarming.
“We have always honestly tired to bring peace and stability to Afghanistan but some of opposition groups are oppose of our attempts. They would not succeed,” Gen. Raheel Sharif said. “We are concerned over current security situation in Afghanistan. We have historical and bloody ties with Afghanistan. No one will be able to break this string. Our efforts against terrorism is important, we hope that the international community supports our efforts.”
However, a number of Afghan analysts are said to consider these statements by Pakistani army chief of staff a new trick against Afghan government, saying Pakistan has never stood by its commitments against Afghanistan.
They are said to believe that Pakistan has a major role in supporting terrorism in Afghanistan and the final decision for wiping out this phenomenon is also at the hands of Pakistan.
