Pakistan, Uzbekistan FMs talk bilateral issues in phone calls with Muttaqi

The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s (IEA) Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi on Saturday held separate telephone conversations with the Foreign Ministers of Pakistan and Uzbekistan on various issues, Hafiz Zia Ahmad Takal, deputy spokesperson for the foreign ministry said in a statement on X.

Muttaqi congratulated his Pakistani counterpart, Mohammad Ishaq Dar, on being appointed as the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan and expressed hope that his appointment would play a constructive role in strengthening the relations between Kabul and Islamabad.

 Muttaqi also extended an invitation for Ishaq Dar to visit Kabul.

In addition, Muttaqi stressed the implementation of agreements made recently between Afghanistan and Uzbekistan in his conversation with his Uzbek counterpart, Bakhtiyor Saidov.

The two counterparts gave assurance each other regarding the implementation of the agreement by the concerned bodies of the two countries.

The concerned bodies will maintain high-stack relations in order to follow up on the work, and in near future a ministerial meeting will be held follow up the issues, the statement read.
