Parliament Summons MoCI Minister, CEO of Fuel Enterprise

The Lower House of Parliament summoned Minister of Commerce and Industry and Chief Executive Officer of Afghanistan Fuel and Liquid Gas Enterprise due to the existence challenges.

Some of Parliament Members say a large number of Fuel and Liquid Gas Enterprise employees have been dismissed and this issue should be seriously tracked.

Representative of Maidan Wardak, Ghulam Hussain Naseri said, “Minister of Commerce and CEO of Fuel should not have extrajudicial works. This is an alarming issue and the performances of this enterprise should be done based on the law.”

However, the CEO of Fuel and Liquid Gas Enterprise claims that none of the employees has been dismissed and they change to other units because of reforms and preventing corruption.

CEO of fuel, Walid Tamim said, “the revenue of this department had a tripled increase and no staffs were dismissed. They changed to other units because of reforms and prevention of corruption.”

Minister of Commerce and Industry, Hamyoun Rasa said, “we submitted specified proposals about the fuel enterprise to the Presidential Palace. We are waiting for their response to solve the existence challenges.”

Chairman of the lower house, Abdul Rauf Ibrahimi declared that there should be no obstacle against reforms in government institutions, particularly the fuel and gas enterprise. “we praise efforts that increase the revenues of fuel enterprise.

Afghan lawmakers stress that all decisions of security institutions should be taken based on law and the national interests must not victimize to personal interests.
