The participants of “peace process” meeting in Kabul have called on all armed insurgent groups for ceasefire in Afghanistan and join the Peace Talks.

Afghan Ministry of Foreign said the government during the meeting urged all state sponsored terrorism to stop equipping and supporting terrorists and take practical steps in destroying terrorist havens.

Deputy minister of foriegn, Hekmat Khalil Karzai said, “the government told the participated countries how to behave against the states sponsored terrorism.”

Spokesman of the Foriegn Ministry, Shakeb Mustaghni also said, “the participants called on armed groups for ceasefire and come to negotation table and stop supporting terrorism.”

Afghanistan hosted a multinational peace conference in Kabul on June 6, as the country reels from a wave of bombings and unrest that has left more than 100 people dead and hundreds wounded in the past week.

The one-day conference aimed to reboot peace talks and enlist neighbours in a regional fight against terrorism. “We’re fighting 20 transnational terrorist groups on your behalf,” Ghani said. “What we need is an agreement on regional security.”

In front of an almost exclusively male gathering including representatives of Pakistan, India, Iran, Russia, China, Saudi Arabia, the US and various European countries, Ghani accused Pakistan of waging “an undeclared war”.

He scolded western countries for attempting to negotiate with the Taliban on their own. “There are too many players running too many parallel tracks with too little clarity on who they are and what they represent,” Ghani said. “We also ask that you respect the integrity of an Afghan-owned and led consolidated process and not set up separate tracks of your own.”
