Peace Talks in Progress with Taliban: Karzai

The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Hekmat Khalil Karzai in session held in Kabul said progress is made on peace talks with Taliban and Taliban  have presented determined and clear demands for the Government of Afghanistan.

Meanwhile European Union Ambassador for Afghanistan has insisted that Afghan Government peace doors are opened, therefore opportunities should be used.

After long delays and deterioration of the mutual ties of Pakistan-Afghanistan on peace talks process the officials in Ministry of Foreign Affairs are talking about the progress made in peace talk’s process with Taliban.

The deputy Minister of Foreign affairs Hekmat Khalil Karzai said, “ There have been interactions and discussions Peace doors are opened, progress is made in peace talks process with Taliban, Taliban have presented clear and determined demands for the Government of Afghanistan, and the demands are being reviewed currently by the Governmental officials.”

 Meanwhile the European Union Ambassador to Afghanistan Franz-Michael Skjold Mellbin said, “ peace is possible in Afghanistan, and one of the very positive experience this year is the first significant peace agreement more than 15 years in this country, its good reminder that there is big prize out there, big prize for Afghan Nation and its one word fighting for and what we should do is to make the peace agreement we have is successful, so that it can inspire other people to join the process.”

The Afghanistan chief executive Abdullah Abdullah said, “We believe in peace, it does not mean that the past competition and activities to be repeated, history will judge about that.”

Recently Afghan Government has demanded the United Nation Organizations to uplift the sanctions and remove the name of Gulbuddin Hekmatyar from the UN black list.
