National Congress of Afghanistan party argued the Durand line is the internationally recognized Af-Pak border. The party added those Afghan politicians who deny the fact are only trying to buy supports.

The National Congress Party members in a summit in Kabul today persists that only with recognizing the Durand line as the official border of Af-Pak one of the most problematic issues of the region will end.

The party rejects claims of the government of owing the lands up to “Attak” areas and calls it irrational.

“They [government leaders] are just lying. If you have any claims, share your documents and reasons with the people, then you can refer those documents to international bodies.” Head of NC party Latif Pedram insists.

But, a number of parliamentarians say no one including statesmen don’t have the right to decide about the border line with only the people of Afghanistan shall decide about it.

“No one is allowed to talk about the Durand line. It needs a “Loya Jirga” to be held, where the people of Afghanistan may decide about the border line.”  Nazir Ahmad Ahmadzai, Parliament’s second vice speaker said.

Arian yon, a parliamentarian further crushed on the topic with saying,” those who appointed by John Kerry [ex- U.S. secretary of state] have no right to decide about Durand line.”

Throughout history, none of the Afghan governments recognized Durand line, but some of Afghanistan’s strategic partners including U.S. repeatedly claimed the line as the official AF-PAK border.
