Police Forces Seized Mini Bus Loaded with Donkey Fur in Kunduz

Local police forces in Kunduz province have seized a mini bus loaded with donkey fur, based on the information the furs were taken from Balkh to North part of the country for further utilization of hiding and placing explosive materials.

Donkey furs are as thick that even the scanning machines cannot identify explosive materials placed in.

Ministry of Interior Affairs Spokesman Sediq Sediqee said, “Taliban are using any options to destroy the infrastructure of the country, this is called terrorist idea, earlier the donkeys were used as suicide attackers.”

Earlier reports published that some amount of Donkey flesh were sold to Afghan security forces contractors, dozens were arrested in Northern provinces of Afghanistan for selling Donkey flesh.

Ministry of Defense Deputy Spokesman Mohammad Radmanish said, “We reject such reports, efforts are underway to provide good quality food for the Afghan security forces.

In 2009, the Taliban strapped an improvised explosive device to a donkey. The gate guard noticed something suspicious when a group of men let the donkey go a short way from the camp and then hurried off. The donkey was stopped with a rifle shot. One soldier set fire to the hay with a flare provoking a “considerable explosion”.

In April 2013, in Kabul, a bomb attached to a donkey blew up in front of a police security post, killing a policeman and wounding three civilians. A Government spokesman claimed insurgents were challenging the competence of the Afghan government prior to the 2014 withdrawal of the U.S. military
