Power sharing deal agreed for new cabinet
Finally, Afghan National Unity Government leaders made a compromise to divide 24 ministries equally.
A member of the National Unity Government speaking on the condition of anonymity with Ariana News said,” They have shared the power equally based on 50-50 percent deal.”
President Ghani will introduce the members for key ministries of finance, interior affairs, rural rehabilitation; while the Chief Executive Officer, Abdullah will introduce the nominees for ministries of defense, foreign affairs, and commerce.
The new cabinet took about 2 months and yet to be introduced to Afghan Parliament for approval, but the committee assigned to work on the formation of the cabinet could not come to a conclusion due to different interpretations of the Agreement Articles.
The CEO, Abdullah Abdullah who was speaking on a gathering on Saturday said, new members will be introduced within another one or two days.
