Afghan President Ashraf Ghani has officially started the distribution process of property certificates of unplanned urban areas in Herat province.

During the distribution ceremony, President Ghani warned the terrorist groups that Afghan people have strong will for economic development and suppressing insurgents.

Ghani condemned the recent terrorist attacks and noted the enemies of the country have once again committed crimes in Farah, Kabul, and Helmand provinces as the country is celebrating the inauguration of the TAPI project.

He called the land grabbing unacceptable in the country and emphasized that efforts are made to secure properties and prevent the current crisis.

“All Afghan people should have secure properties from now on and the word “unplanned areas” has no meaning for us anymore,” President said.

President Ghani on Thursday arrived in Herat province and opened the work on Afghan section of TAPI gas line project.

The $10 billion mega project, known as Turkmenistan-Pakistan-Afghanistan-India, or TAPI, will connect Central Asia with South Asia and is expected to become operational this year.

The 1,814-kilometer pipeline will carry an estimated 33 billion cubic meters of natural gas annually for the next 30 years from the world’s fourth-largest reserves in Turkmenistan.
