Presidential Palace Main Barrier against Electronic National ID Cards Process: MP

The member of the internal security commission at the lower house of the Parliament Mohammad Naim Lalai Hameedzai said some officials at Presidential palace “ARG” create some obstacles against the National Identity Cards not to be issued for Afghans.

He said, “ There are some major problems exist in issuing Electronic National identity cards “Tazkira”, first the agreement signed had issues, secondly the capacity should have been raised, the main other issue is that there are some officials in Presidential palace who are creating barriers against the issuing the Electronic National Identity Cards “ Tazkira” in the country.”

Meanwhile chief of the Electronic National Identity Cards Homayon Muhtat said, “Our operational team members are fully function, if the order is given we will start issuing the Electronic National Identity Cards for the citizens, currently we have 7 million raw cards ready to be issued.”

Issuing the Electronic National Identity Cards was one of the agreements of both leaders of the National Unity Government it seems that none of the leaders has been able to launch the following National process to identify the Afghan citizens in the country, based on the information 16 million paper Tazkira has been issued for the Afghans and if the Electronic National Identity Cards process starts all Afghans will receive incoming 7 years.
