Reforms Commission announced of having no authority in selecting committee

Officials in the Election Reforms Commission say that the presidency in a decree valid the selecting committee and it is the government’s responsibility to implement the decree as soon as possible.

Days passed since the scheme of Electoral Reforms commission to government, but after many questions, the reforms commission announced that the commission has no authority in selecting committee.

“According to 85th decree, the selecting committee is valid. this issue is out of our working agenda. Now it’s government’s responsibility to implement the law; otherwise it would have negative impacts,” said Shah Sultan Akefi, head of reforms commission.
In the meantime, Afghanistan presidency says that the Civil Society has not been succeed to introduce a representative to government so far.

“The civil society failed to introduce a representative so far,” said President deputy spokesman, Sayed Zafar Hashemi.

This comes as the international community is said to consider its aids and support from Afghanistan’s other elections depends on reforms of electoral system.
