Security Threats Closes 24 Schools in Nengarhar

24 schools were closed due to high security threats in Haska Mina district of eastern Nengarhar province of Afghanistan.

“The doors of twenty-four schools were closed in Haska Mina district, we are asking the illegal armed-groups to let the children study,” Kabir Haqmal director of publications at the ministry of education said on Tuesday.

Security threats have raised new challenges for Nengarhar residents depriving the boys and girls from the right of education.

Mohammad Asif Shinwari, a provincial spokesman in the ministry of education says at least 5,000 students were studying in these schools and expressed his concerns over this issue.

According to the statistics provided by the ministry of education about 500 schools were closed across the country due to security threats and thousands of the students have been deprived from their basic right of education.
