Selecting Committee Begins Review of Documents From Electoral Commissioner Candidates

The Selecting Committee begins reviewing the documents of commissioner candidates for the electoral commissions after receiving more than six hundred requests.

“We begin the practical work on reviewing the documents of commissioner candidates and our procedures have been finalized. We are trying to prepare a list of candidates during the procedures,” said Yousuf Rashid, member of the selecting committee.

Meanwhile, the electoral monitoring institutions expect the selecting committee to have a transparent process.

“The process moves forward and we hope the needed transparency considered up to the end of the work,” said Rahmatullah Salehi, head of Free and Fair Election Foundation of Afghanistan.

A number of parliament members called on the selecting committee to introduce the commissioner candidates to president as soon as possible.

“We hope the candidates to be introduced to president that we can go for holding the elections,” said Khalid Pashton, member of parliament.

The Selecting Committee of electoral commissions begins work after months of bargaining; people hope this commission works transparently and introduce the commissioners in the nearest time.
