The Afghan legislators in the Upper House of Parliament-Senate House have voiced extreme concerns over growing criminal records in capital Kabul.

According to the senators, the cases reach in a level, where no one feel safe and secure in any part of the city.

They noted Mafia and armed gangs loot and abdicate households and drivers.

“Kabul residents increasingly worry about criminal incidents committed by armed bands. These incidents require urgent and strict actions by security officials,” LailumaAhmadi, a Kabul based senator told the house.

“Due to the increased criminal incident in Kabul, a number of business people have left the city and dragged off their investment,” Juma, another senator said.

Hearing the senators concerns over deteriorating Kabul security situation, the speaker of the house called on defense committee of the house to invite security officials to address the concerns.

“We should ask the Kabul security officials to clarify why the capital’s security is worsening daily and why they are not paying enough attention to that,” Fazl Hadi Muslimyar, head of the house said.

The senators insist on urgent and practical actions by responsible institutions and warned that failing to address the problem would further lead to more crimes in the city.
