A number of Senators in Meshrano Jirga (Upper House) on Sunday said the recruitment exam for Electronic Identification Cards (e-ID Cards) Office held by the Independent Administrative Reform and Civil Service Commission (IRACSC) was unfair and urged its cancellation.

More than 6,000 people voluntarily participated in the exam for 492 posts at the e-ID Cards Office which was held over a week ago.

Describing the exam unfair and non-transparent, the Senators stressed that the Administrative Reform and Civil Service Commission and the Biometric Identity Cards Issuing Authority (BICIA) have not been able to meet the challenges of the people.

“Is there lack of professionals that the President has appointed Nader Naderi as head of the Independent Administrative Reform and Civil Service Commission? This person is a traitor… he spoiled the Administrative Reform process,” said Senator Zalmai Zabuli.

“There is a conspiracy in the Biometric Identity Cards and Administrative Reform process. The exam was non-transparent; therefore, it should be canceled,” said Senator Sher Mohammad Akhundzada.

The First Deputy Speaker of Meshrano Jirga, Mohammad Alam Izdyar; however, said the head of both commissions are obliged to be present at general session of the parliament on Tuesday for questioning.
