A group of seven Islamic State or Daesh militants killed when the explosives packed in a barrel exploded before being planted.

The incident took place on Tuesday at about 11:00 a.m. when the insurgents attempted to coordinate terrorist attack by planting a barrel packed with explosives in Godar area of Pacheragam district of eastern Nangarhar province, the Interior Ministry said in a statement Wednesday.

The insurgents were killed, following the blast of their own explosives, the statement added.
