Seven Killed in Lashkargah Suicide Bombing: Police

A suicide attacker on Tuesday detonated his explosives in Lashkagah, the capital city of southern Helmand province, local officials said.

The incident took place at about mid-day in the provincial capital.

Provincial governor spokesman said that the attacker entered into a guesthouse in the third police district of Lashkargah where Afghan intelligence special operation forces were residing.

According to the source at least one person was killed and nine others including security forces and civilians were injured.

Gen. Agha Noor Kemtoz, the provincial police chief denied, the house was residing security personnel.

Police confirmed that at least seven civilians were killed and six others were injured.

At the same time, hospital sources said that they have received nine injured people as a result of the attack.

Presently, no group has claimed the responsibility of the attack.
