Four Afghan Policemen Killed in Roadside Bomb Blast in Helmand

Four Afghan policemen have been killed and two more injured in a roadside bomb blast in southern Helmand province, officials said Tuesday.

The incident took place in the Nahr-e-Saraj region of Gerishk district on Monday afternoon, leaving at least six Afghan policemen dead, including Corps Commander dead, and injuring two others, said the Provincial Governor’s Spokesman, Omar Zwak.

The victims were engaged in patrolling in the Zushakh area of Nahr-e-Saraj Region of the district when the incident occurred. 

The two “critically” injured police were carried to the hospital, Zwak added.
