Taliban Commanders Arrested in Laghman Operation

Two Taliban key commanders were detained during an operation conducted by Afghan security forces in eastern Laghman province, a local official said on Wednesday.
Asadullah Dawlatzai a spokesman for Laghman Police told Ariana News that the Afghan forces launched an operation on Tuesday night in Qargayi district of the province.
According to Dawlatzai, two key commanders of the Taliban militants were arrested during the military raids.
The Taliban commanders were identified as Mullah Hassan and Sardar Wali, Dawlatzai said.
The Taliban has not made a comment about the incident yet.
Laghman is among the insecure provinces in eastern Afghanistan, where the Taliban insurgents operate in a number of its districts.
