Taliban kills 14 bus passengers in Kunduz

Taliban militants have taken hostage hundreds of passengers in northern Kunduz province this morning, killing fourteen, freeing 10 others, local officials said on Tuesday. 

According to the reports, Taliban have stopped three 404 passenger buses and two minibuses in Kunduz while the passengers were on their way from Badakhshan to capital Kabul. 

Kunduz police spokesman, Hujratullah Akbari, confirmed the incident, said at least 185 people were kidnapped and the Taliban have killed fourteen passengers and have later released nearly 10 of them. 

The insurgents has taken passengers with themselves, and now police are searching the abductees, the source added. 

Taliban has not made a comment regarding the report yet. 

Kunduz is among the volatile provinces in north of Afghanistan where the anti-government militant groups are widely operating in a number of its districts and were able to take the control of the city on September 2015 for a short time.
