Taliban to be weaken with death of Mullah Mansour: MoD

Simultaneously with the death of Mullah Akhtar Mansour, Taliban’s leader war in Afghanistan would be reduced, the Ministry of National Defense (MoD) said.

MoD says that Mullah Mansour had many financial sources that with his death, the armed Taliban group will be weaken.

The deputy spokesman of MoD has called on the international community to mobilize against Pakistan for eradicating terrorism.

Afghan Taliban leader Mullah Akhtar Mansoor has been killed in a United States strike in Pakistan, a year after he was appointed leader of the group.

Pakistan has denounced the US strike, adding that US did not inform Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif before carrying out the strike on its soil.

The Afghan intelligence service, the National Directorate of Security, seemed to have details of Mansour’s death before the Pakistanis as they claim.

The killing of Mansour will boost President Ghani in Afghanistan where he has been facing severe criticism over growing strife and his failed overture to Islamabad. It will be seen as a blow to the Mullah’s friends in the Pakistani military and security establishment and start another struggle for the Taliban leadership.

Afghanistan Presidential Palace says that the enemies of Afghanistan will not be safe anywhere.

The death of the Afghan Taliban leader, Mullah Akhtar Mansour, would be a serious blow for the insurgent group.

Mullah Mansour was known as a moderate figure and prone to a peaceful resolution of the Afghan conflict. But his time at the top was hit by several unexpected developments.
