Taliban’s deputy shadow governor for Farah killed

Mullah Abdul Ghani, Taliban’s shadow deputy governor for western Farah province was killed by Afghan security forces, police official said on Sunday.

Iqbal Baher, provincial police spokesman said Mullah Abdul Ghani, Taliban’s shadow deputy governor with dozens of his militants attacked over police outposts in Bala Buluk district of Farah province.

Baher added, at least four Taliban militants including the Taliban’s shadow deputy governor was killed and four others were injured in their clashes with Afghan security forces.

No causalities have been sustained to Afghan forces during the clashes, the source continued.

Taliban group has not made a comment yet.

Bala Buluk is among the volatile districts in Farah province which is approximately 95% Pashtun and Taliban militants frequently carrying out attacks over Afghan forces.
