In addition to Pakistan, terrorism also benefits support from the Central Asian countries to destabilize Afghanistan, Afghan Minister of Interior said on Saturday.

Terrorist groups are trying to uphold safe heavens in Afghanistan in order to continue terror activities beyond the region, Noorul Haq Ulomi Afghan MoI minister said while visiting an Afghan National Civil Order Police (ANCOP) in Kabul.

“Despite conspiracies against us, the terrorist groups are struggling for their survival to create bases in Afghanistan, the roots of these groups are not only in Afghanistan, but their roots are in the neighboring countries including Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and even China,” Ulomi said.

Afghan security forces are fighting against the terrorist groups with all possible facilities.

“Those who are fighting with us does not follow any principle, they are trying to increase fear in Afghanistan, we are also trying to defeat their efforts before they reach to their ominous goals,” He added.

Currently, Afghan forces are fighting against armed insurgents in sixteen provinces of Afghanistan. Taliban militants are trying to capture part of the provinces after announcing a spring offensive, but all their efforts have been defeated by Afghan security forces during the last couple of months.
