Afghanistan ambassador to U.S. says the terrorist groups are still enjoying the safe havens in Pakistan and war would not end if these havens not destroyed in Pakistan’s soil.

““The issue of sanctuary has not been resolved. The Taliban continue to enjoy safe havens in Pakistan. They have access to medical facilities and fund rising, so if we want an end to the conflict in Afghanistan we must address the issues of sanctuaries in Pakistan. We certainly hope that the Trump’s administration would take this matter more seriously, there is definitely more awareness in Washington about the role of the sanctuaries and what needs to be done,” said Hamdullah Muheb, Afghan ambassador to U.S..

Pakistan has always been accused of supporting Taliban and the insurgent groups in its soils by the Afghan officials.

” There is no other way for the Afghan people. Stability is our top priority. Our causalities last year is again not weakness, it shows our strength, our commitment to this war,” Muheb added.

This comes as US defense secretary said destroying the safe havens in Pakistan is in interest of Islamabad.
