Hundreds kilometers of open border between Afghanistan and Pakistan in the imaginary Durand line caused thousands of terrorists enter Afghanistan for terror activities, the Ministry of Interior (MoI) said.

Ministry of Interior says the intelligence data shows that 30 to 35 thousand of religious schools activating in Pakistan’s soil for extremist trainings.

“Our discovery shows nearly 30 to 35 religious school exist in Pakistan that are training terrorists and send them to Afghanistan,” said Sidiq Sidiqi, MoI spokesman.

However, a number of government’s former officials are said to believe that more military forces should be sent to Durand Line and use people as extra forces to prevent entering terrorists to the country.

“By creating and using 14 armed sectarian and Arbaki forces, we can secure the Durand Line,” said Muhammad Asef Baktash, analyst.

The Durand Line has been a source of contention between Afghanistan and Pakistan.

On September 30, 1947, at the UN General Assembly meeting, Afghanistan even caste a vote against the admission of Pakistan to the United Nations.

To this date, the relations between Afghanistan and Pakistan are characterized by rivalry, suspicion and resentment. The primary cause of this hostility rests in the debate about the validity of the Durand Line Agreement.
