1000s protest over Zabul incident, demanding resignation of NUG leaders

Thousands of Afghans joined a peaceful rally in Kabul on Wednesday to condemn the beheading of seven civilians by ISIS loyalists in Zabul province of Afghanistan.

The demonstrators carrying the death bodies of the seven civilians killed in Zabul continued to make their way to the Presidential Palace and staged the biggest protest Kabul was ever witness during the last decades.

The protesters were shouting “death to Taliban, death to Pakistan, death to Daesh, death to Ghani and Abdullah and were demanding the National Unity Government (NUG) leaders resignations.

Protesters were chanting,” Abdullah! Ghani! Resign! Resign!”.

“The Taliban are committing crimes and the government is supporting them.” Thousands of protesters chanting in Kabul rally.

The demonstrators with angry moods were seeking justice from the government. They accused the NUG for negligence and on the latest Asif Ashna, a deputy spokesperson to the Chief Executive Officer of Afghanistan has resigned from his position in protest to government’s failure and negligence over the Zabul incident.

No time has been set for the end of the protest, protesters may stay till their demands met by the government.
