The armed Taliban group staged two separate suicide attacks on Tuesday in the capital, Kabul.

In the first attack, a suicide car bomber hit a NATO convoy in Shah Shahid Street, killing a foreign soldier, wounding one civilian and damaging several cars and shattering windows on several buildings.

A NATO spokesman in Kabul, Col. Brian Tribus, confirmed the attack on the coalition convoy, which took place shortly before noon and said the alliance was gathering more information on the incident.

On Twitter, the Taliban claimed responsibility for both attacks, which came a week after last Tuesday’s strike by a suicide bomber on a convoy of U.S. troops close to the U.S. embassy.

Hours later, the second suicide attack occurred when the suicide bomber on a motorcycle struck at the gate of an intelligence facility in the eastern part of Kabul at eight security headquarter, killing a National Directorate Security staff and wounding another one.

A police spokesman, Ebadullah Karimi said, “”Three suicide bombers were involved in the attack; one detonated his explosives, two were shot dead by security forces.”

This comes as earlier, foreign troop’s convoy was also attacked by the Taliban group in Kabul’s airport street.
