Two key commanders of the Taliban have been killed in an infighting in eastern Nangarhar province, officials said Monday.

The commanders will killed along with four fellows on Sunday night at 11:00 p.m. in Koz Beyar and Bar Beyar areas of Khogyani district, according to District Governor, Subhanullah.

He said that they were commanders of the Taliban in the area and have been killed on charges of having links with Islamic State (Daesh).

The Taliban has not immediately commented.

It comes as there have been frequent reports of the Taliban infighting after the group’s longtime leader, Mullah Omar was announced dead in 2015.
