UN: 21 million people in Afghanistan do not have access to clean drinking water

The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) says that currently 21 million people across Afghanistan do not have access to clean drinking water.
On Tuesday this United Nations agency said on X, formerly Twitter, that one of the visible effects of climate change in Afghanistan is the lack of drinking water.
According to OCHA, in 30 provinces of Afghanistan, the quality of drinking water is very low and most of the people are at risk of various diseases.
Earlier this year, the United Nations Children’s Fund said that 42 percent of Afghanistan’s water resources have dried up due to a long drought in the country, which has left people with a severe shortage of clean drinking water.
