Unemployment becomes a national problem in Afghanistan: MoPW

The Ministry of Public Works (MoPW) says that unemployment becomes a national problem in Afghanistan and the ministry has intensified efforts to solve the problem.

The minister of public work, Nasrin Orya Khail expressed concern over the current situation, saying closely 1.8 million people are unemployment in the country.

“We seriously are trying to decrease the level of unemployment and programs are underway regarding the issue,” Orya Khail, minister of public works said.

Meanwhile, the ministry of Public Works signed a contract with UN-HABITAT office for professional training worth $ 1 million.

In this program 1700 people will be trained in Kabul, Herat, Nangarhar and Balkh provinces.

“After this, we will give certificates to our employees which will be valid in international working organizations,” Orya Khail said.

The ministry of public works claims that around 1 million people have been professionally trained in the past ten years but recently the escape of youths from the country had a remarkable increase.
