Gunmen killed a German charity worker and an Afghan guard and abducted a Finish national from a guest house in Kabul late on Saturday, the Interior Ministry Acting Spokesman said.

The incident took place at around 11:30 p.m. when a group of unknown gunmen have stormed the guesthouse in Darulaman road of the capital, Spokesman Najib Danish said on Sunday.

The three were reportedly working for a Swedish aid group called Operation Mercy – a Swedish relief and development organization.

“There was repeated request of police guards for their protection but they were insisted that it is charity group and they don’t have security issues,” Danish said.

The German Foreign Ministry reportedly confirmed a German national was killed in the incident and said the German authorities are in touch with officials in Kabul.

There was no immediate claim of responsibly behind the attack.
