US to release Afghan detainee from Gitmo

According to local officials in Washington, the United States will free an Afghan prisoner and sent home to Afghanistan from Guantanamo jail.

Muhammad Kamin, the Afghan prisoner has been a prisoner in Guantanamo since eleven years ago.

Sources say that Kamin was arrested in eastern Afghanistan alleged to have relationship with Al-Qaeda group and Taliban in the year 2004.

However, Kamin denied the charges against him which the charges have also not been proved so far.

Committee on US National Security which has been formed to investigate the cases of Guantanamo detainees has decided to release Kamin in the near future.

US media outlets have also reported that, the committee has not been received any evidence link to the relationship between Kamin and Al-Qaeda group.

According to the United States Department of Defense, it held more than two hundred Afghan detainees in Guantanamo prior to May 15, 2006.

They had been captured and classified as enemy combatants in warfare following the US and allies invasion of Afghanistan to overthrow the Taliban and disrupt terrorist networks.

Originally the US held such prisoners in sites in Afghanistan, but needed a facility to detain them where they could be interrogated.
