Uzbek-Afghan Officials Sign Contract, 3 MoUs to Boost Economy

Uzbekistan officials on Monday have signed 3 memorandums of Understanding and one contract on selling of wheat, energy, and cooperation on refinery of oil, railway, Agriculture and gas with Afghan official in Kabul.

The Afghanistan President Special envoy in central Asia Affairs Shakar Kargar said, “Uzbekistan is ready to have multiple economic ties with Afghan Government, and soon one Afghan delegation will visit Uzbekistan, to sign several other contracts on boosting economy at the end of November 2016.”

The chairman of Uzbekistan National exporting department Erkin Yunisov said, “We should use the existed business opportunity for boosting of businesses, insisting that both countries should have chamber of commerce and industries in each other territory.”

Meanwhile officials in Afghanistan chamber of commerce and industry foresaid that if the business contracts to be signed, the level of mutual business between the two countries will increase up to $ 1 billion.

Chairman of chamber of commerce and industry Atiqullah Nasrat said, “In current condition Afghanistan and Uzbekistan are dealing on $ 350 million, insisting that it needs to be raised up to $ 1 billion by using the existed golden opportunities.”

Week ago, officials from Turkmenistan and Afghanistan witnessed the first phase of construction of railway from Aqina-Ankhoi district of Jawzjan province lengthened 58 kilo meter and funded by the Turkmenistan and Asian Development Bank.
