Chief Executive Officer Abdullah Abdullah’s electoral campaign warned that if the votes of twenty-seven provinces were not recounted, they would not accept the preliminary results of the election.

CEO Abdullah’s team requested that the Independent Electoral Complaints Commission (IECC), should cooperate with them in this process. Meanwhile, the IECC stressed that this ‘demand’ will create problems.

Younus Nawandish, a member of CEO Abdullah’s team, said that the votes of twenty-seven provinces were counted in their absence of  CEO Abdullah’s electoral team and in presence of President Ghani’s electoral team. Mr. Nawandish called on the IECC to cooperate with their request, otherwise, CEO Abdullah’s team will disagree with any results announced.

According to IEC member Awrangzib, the recounting process of votes from the twenty-seven provinces was done in presence of moderates in accordance with the rules.

The IECC has claimed that CEO Abdullah’s team is trying to create problems in the process.

The recounting of votes from all the provinces will finish this coming Tuesday, it is assumed that the IEC will announce the results one day later.
