Water nourishes 5 out of 9 acres of agricultural lands in Afghanistan

Minister of Agriculture and live stock in the ceremony of World Water Day has stated that we have 9 acres of arable lands in Afghanistan, where 5 acres of the following land is being watered in the whole country.

“According to the Digital images of provided by the International institutions Afghanistan is having 9 acres of arable lands which water only nourishes 5 acres of it Minister of Agriculture and Live stock Assadullah Zameer urged.”

Minister of Agriculture and live stock Assadullah Zameer said,” We will launch 190 projects for improving of irrigation ahead, saying 45 percent of water which are to reach to the arable lands is wasted in canals, and gutters.”

Meanwhile Minister of Water and energy Ali Ahmad Usmani said,” Water plays vital role in growing Agriculture and industry, Water is not managed in Afghanistan.”

“Three options should be considered managing of Afghanistan’s water, Investment and monitoring of the water projects at the entire country Minister of rural rehabilitation and Development said.”

Based on the estimation 55 percent of Afghans life depends on Agriculture, having no clear policy for managing of water has put Afghanistan in the position to import 4 $ billion goods from abroad.
