Weapons Cache of Taliban, 2 Heroin-Making Factories Destroyed in Nangarhar

Two heroin manufacturing factories and a Taliban cache of weapons were destroyed in Nangarhar province of Afghanistan on Saturday, the Afghan ministry of interior said.

According to the statement released on Sunday, during a counter-narcotic operation, the Afghan Police Special Forces discovered and destroyed two factories which were producing and processing heroin in Nangarhar province.

The factories were located in Termi village of Khogyani district, said the statement.

During the operation 5,500kg opium, 10kg hashish, 10kg heroin, two generators, and some chemical material used for narcotics were set on fire.

Meanwhile in a separate joint operation the Afghan forces raided over a Taliban cache of weapons in Deh Bala district of Nangarhar and destroyed their hide-out, added the statement.

Four militants were also killed during clashes with the Afghan forces.

The Taliban group has not made a comment about the report yet.
