White House describes Taliban as an “armed insurgency” not “terrorist group”

US White House spokesman said on Wednesday that unlike the Islamic State (IS) group, Taliban is not considered a terrorist group but an armed insurgency.
Eric Schultz, US White House spokesman made his comment during a discussion of hostage negotiations that occurred with the Taliban over the release of Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl.
While white House statement announced that earlier this month, America announced that Mullah Omar, the Taliban leader and other members of this group will not be the purpose of war for US, unless they become a direct threat to the security of America.
