Work Begins on The Plan to Develop Kabul Cricket Ground of Int’l Standards

Initial work on the plan to develop Kabul cricket stadium of international standards kicked off on Thursday.

The Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) Chairman, Atif Mashal discussed the plan and new designed-map of the ground with Sayed Mansour Naderi, the Minister of Urban Development & Housing and Abdullah Habibzai, the Acting Mayor of Kabul at  the Alokozay Cricket stadium.  

“We will be witnessed of a ground with international standards in Kabul very soon,” Naderi told reporters at the stadium, as cited by ACB in a statement.

Congratulating the nation for the recent performance and achievements of the team, Naderi said cricket makes Afghanistan proud and as the team became the full member of the International Cricket Council (ICC), having a standard stadium is one of the council’s essential conditions.

Minister Naderi added that practical work on construction of the stadium will begin on Hamal (March) of the new solar year.
