World Bank Labels Afghanistan Worst Country for Investment

Afghanistan among Asian countries, is the worst place to trade and investment and investment in this country is dangerous, World Bank says in a report.

The World Bank in its annual report on trade and investment environment in 190 countries focused that has written in its part that Afghanistan is the worst Asian country for trade and investment.

The annual report states that Afghanistan is ranked as 183.

Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) confirms the WB report and emphasized on challenges of Afghan investors.

“Currently, the government itself creates problems for investment, investors are facing a diffficult situation,” said Pesarlay Sayam, spokesman of ACCI.

It is no surprise then that the report cites security threats, corruption, lack of reform and declining international aid as some of the most fundamental factors behind Afghanistan’s fragile investment climate.

Earlier, the World Justice Project, also declared Afghanistan the world’s third-largest outlaw country.
