World Day against Trafficking in Persons held in Kabul

Human trafficking is a crime that exploits women, children and men for numerous purposes including forced labor and sex, but in Afghanistan the numbers of human trafficking is high and the Government needs to launch necessary measurements to decrease the shocking numbers.

Every country in the world is affected by human trafficking, whether as a country of origin, transit or destination for victims, but in Afghanistan

The Relief and rapid development NGO stated that Afghanistan is on the first position for having high rates of human trafficking in the World.

Head of the Relief and rapid development NGO Mohammad Shuiab Nassiri said,” Afghanistan is counted as one of the soft targets and source and money for human traffickers, Government has failed to prevent any cases, there should be practical steps taken to eradicate the following issue from Afghanistan.”

Meanwhile President Adviser on social and Youth affairs have insisted that problems are still there especially on human trafficking, but it’s needed that we all get together to tackle this issue.

President adviser on social and youth affairs Malalay Shinwari said” there are barriers, serious measurements should be launched, no efforts has been made to change the minds of youths for not leaving their country, all the parts of the Government body should be working together.”

Based on the estimation in every 30 second one human is being trafficked in the world, but in the past 8 months 12,0000 Afghans were trafficked from Afghanistan to abroad.
